I'm curious to know if anyone saw a GP race on Speed Channel this past weekend somewhere called Macau; I think that’s the right spelling. The race appeared to be on public streets. Anyway, a Honda won the race but I didn’t recognize any of the names. I only caught the last half of this race and have no idea what I was watching. I’m not even sure the bikes were GP bikes or if that’s just what they were calling the race. If anyone watched this race, would you mind filling in the blanks for me?

That race was begun in the late 60's. It's really cool as it's dangerous as hell. No runoff at all. This year Josh Hayes (Attack Kawasaki) came in 5th and another american (Geoff May?) came in 6th. Every year the guys who do best are street racing specialist from Ireland & the UK. It's in the same spirit as the Isle of Man. Every year they do about 5 races for cars & bikes there theyshut downa bunch of streets & let 'em race. Such a cool thing to see & Speedvision doesn't even advertise that they show it. Then they show it a weird times, too. Oh well, hope this helps.

What kind of bikes are they riding? I know they were 1000cc, but they looked more like Superstock rather than GP.

They're superbike-ish. Not sure about the rules, but wasn't Hayes riding his Attack superbike?

If anybody hasn't see this race, watch it. It's freakin' crazy. I remember one year a dude nearly lost it coming out of the left hander onto the straight and he was actually leaning on the armco/wall on the outside. He DID NOT crash. It's was one of the craziest things I've ever seen.
