I got the idea of making a fiberglass part to replace these two plastic covers. I figured I could color match them to the bodywork yellow. Or I could always just make them out of carbon fiber and leave them unpainted...

What would look better, yellow or carbon fiber?

There's never a need for more yellow.

Gulf have you tried removing the plastic cover and replacing the bolts so the coolant tank is exposed? I think it gives the bike a bit of a racey look without the goofy plastic cover.
