Commonly known as a CBR

 

cbr900, cbr929, cbr954. Correct?? At least these are what I've always referred to as blades. Don't think the 600's count, but could be wrong.

That's my impression BA. 9 series only . . . .

 

Everywhere in the world except for the US of A the Honda CBR900 (including it's later 929 and 954 versions) was called Fireblade. This was shortened to Blade by most people. Why they never got this name in the US is beyond me. Back in the good old days on the Fireblade mailing list Americans were always after Fireblade stickers for their bikes. AFAIK the 600 was never called Fireblade though it was called Hurricane for a time.

they are known as the "fireblade" in europe. as the yzf1000 is known as the "thunderace" and the yzf600 is known as the "thundercat."

huh??? Honda CBR600's have been around since 93. Maybe even earlier. Dont you remember when the CBR600 "F" bikes came out??
