Hi GodsSon, I have to admit the first time I rode my 2015 R1 I felt like you, but it don't bother me now, I have heard them Gel seats are quite good. You could try one of them, I never changed mine but it is more of a track bike.But I never go for a really long ride on it though [emoji106]

Is Corbin still the 'go to' for aftermarket seats? I know they are generally highly regarded.

 

From the research I did Corbin does not make a gel seat looks like saddle men and luimoto are the go to’s unless u don’t want gel

 

Thanks man I ordered a Saddleman gel seat going to give it a shot but maybe I will get used to this one also I will probably try both back-and-forth

 

I have the saddlman gel seat with carbon finish...love it. Definitely recommend it.

 

Corbin isnt the same as 10years ago. Read up on enough motorcycle forums and many have serious disaster experience with their customer service with that company.

I'm also looking at seats. I used to have a guy that did custom ones with gel and foam. Too bad he disappeared a few yrs ago. I think he left the country.

I bought a Corbin for my 2010 R1. I had to modify the mounting with a Dremel and it was harder than a rock. The stock seat was way softer and I thought that was a rock too. I sold it to another forum member within 2 weeks of purchasing it.

 

That was my experience with Corbin as well. Seemed like a sit up straight seat, not meant for sliding off for serious cornering. Reminded me of a tractor seat, contoured but rigid.

 

The 2015+ stock seats arent great but they arent awful either. My gsxr seat is less comfy than my stock r1 seat.

 

You may as well ask what your fav color should be, IMO. Preference in seats is very different from one person to the other.
Personally I love sargent seats, but I'm not sure if they're available for the R1.

 

I have a Corbin seat on mine and love it. Its slightly more of a PITA to bolt the two bolts in the seat vs oem.

 

This may not be the right suggestion, but if you wore a pair of cycling pants as I do on my mtb, it might make it a bit more comfier. The sadlle on the mtb is a lot harder than my 2015 R1, and I doubt you would even notice them under shorts under Kevlar Jeans or leathers. It's only a thought, the gel pad in the under shorts ain't that big [emoji106]

Saddleman was a huge upgrade for me. Way better than the stock seat. Only gripe I have about it is that it seems to push me more onto the tank. Not bad but I notice it.

 

I have a 2011 R1 and bought an air cushion online and it made the ride a lot more comfortable. No need buying another seat for the same comfort.

The seat is firm at first but you get used to the feeling. Did about 70 miles mostly freeway and so far so good.

 

Looks good I just don’t like where it falls short towards the rear and you can see part of the battery compartment opening but I ordered it anyways

 

I had Saddleman seats on my S1000RR and Daytona 675R. Loved them. Even on the track.
A little taller than stock but still worked well.

 

I did around 200 miles today and I can say no fatigue. It do raise the seat height slightly, for a street bike I would pair this with Helibars

 

yep the saddlemen seat helped for me, and yeah height gets a tad higher. i double checked static sag and it wasnt enough, so taking some preload off the shock helped to drop it back down again.
