thanks

was wondering if anyone has pictures of the 2017 R1M having belly pans fitted ?

I am worried about the lower front screw that does not exist on the oem 2017 r1m fairing

do i have to drill a hole ?

I have wondered that, too. If you zoom in, you can see the R1M pan is different. Perhaps, when you order "twill" you get the R1M version. :dunno

And why does the description for the slim pan say it fits the cat?

Definitely going to call before I order.

I put the MkII on my bike a little while ago, here’s a couple notes.
I drilled the two holes for the bottom bolts with a pin vise, just eyeballed it while it was already mounted:

I couldn’t get the stock rear Dzus D8 14mm working length Panex fasteners(circled) to work due to the added thickness of the pan, so I bought a pair of Silver D8 D-ring fasteners in 16mm grip length. Works perfect, and went ahead and bought the silver D8 D-ring kit Kurvey lists for the bike to replace all the others on the bike.

Well shit! That was confusing! I've been under the impression that the R1M lower part of the fairing is different than the regular R1. Therefore, the Lacomoto pan must come in two different versions.

If you zoom in on pics at Super Bike Unlimited you can see the R1 has a piece bolted on below the oil cooler (you can see the extra bolts on the sides of the fairing). The R1M is one piece. That made me assume that the belly pan was different for the two versions. Well, it's not. What I thought was a different pan is actually that stock "extra" part that the standard R1 has.

The moral of the story.... I ordered that sucker today for my M. Can't wait! Too much black, now, though. Probably get the big white 'YAMAHA' decal that goes on the lower from a 2003 or something. Or maybe a bunch of Garbage Pail Kids stickers...

You guys did my flash and I'm running active tune. Bike is running cooler. I ordered some heat barrier from an automotive place but I'm not sure the thickness of it yet. Not sure it will fit between those headers. That's a small clearance gap. Says it's good to 2000 degrees f. By the way this bike is a whole new beast now. Thanks SBU
