Hi, I'm a newbie here and my questions are going to be a bit strange.
I have an R1 powered car (05) with an electric starter motor reverse, but the engine stalls when I use the reverse starter motor.
I think that it is a voltdrop causing the ecu to reset.
My idea is to put a relay in the system that briefly disconnects the battery from the engine wiring while the reverse is being used (probably no longer than 10 seconds at a time).
Will the engine run while disconnected and more importantly, will the rectifier/magneto be undamaged by this?
Cheers Martin
Here is a pic of my homebuild car (yes my own hands built this!)
