Hello,

Here are the prices you asked for.

mid retail 291.85 your cost 186.01
upper retail 267.76 your cost 163.56
lower 205.06 your cost 139.46*
panel console retail 43.25 your cost 22.43
brake pedal retail 64.40 your cost 37.39*
bracket retail 42.20 your cost 21.74*

* indicates back ordered parts.

I just want to make sure that we're on the same page. you asked for the
black piece of plastic that connects the mid to the frame and the upper.
Are you talking about the flat black piece of plastic that would go along
the inside of the upper/mid faiing. Right behind the headlight? Then you
asked for the fairing right below the clip on?? Are you talking about the
same piece? Before we order anything I don't know if you have a camera you
could shoot a couple of pics for me. Or I'll just have to make sure I know
what you're talking about. I just want to make sure that I'm lookin up the
right parts for you.
On the backordered parts, I would suggest placing your order asap cuz that
puts you in line w/ Yamaha. And Yam fills B/Os in the order they were
placed.
Well let me know what you want to do. If you have any other questions
please feel free to ask.

Thanks,

I live about 20 minutes away from them (woodfield), from what I hear they give better prices over the phone then they do in person. Every time I go there they charge me full retail on oil filters, oils, doo-dads. So as far as I'm concerned they suck. But if they gave you a good price then go for it. Actually those prices don't sound too bad so you may want to jump on it. You may also want to try Dupage Honda/Yamaha at http://www.dupagehonda.com and see what they can do for you, let em know the prices you have so far and see if they can beat them. and last I checked, they did have factory solo seats in stock for the '02's as well as earlier models. Let's see, I'm trying to think of others in my area that do web/phone orders...hmm.. this place is big, hope it's the right link, I don't know how their prices are but you may wanna try http://www.chicagocyclecenter.com hope something works out for you.

Prices

I found them to be the cheapest prices on plastic!

I got a quote for a rear tail piece for a 00-R1 for 136.00 with stickers. They are going on e-bay used for 100-125 used!

I haven't orderd but I will be shortly!:rock

Dude.

That shop (Woodfield) is Awesome! I got one of my bikes from Nick the salesman there. Got a fair price...And the parts dept is the best I've ever delt with. I used to live in California and so so sick of dealing w/ dumb dealers with people who have no idea about anything! Dan totally knows his Shit hands down! Plus the dude can RIDE! You otta see him on the track (the kids gonna be real fast if not pro in the next couple of years) plus one of the best wheeliers I've EVER seen!! I think his little brother works there too and he's good to. I pretty much only deal w/ dan on service stuff too there. He's never steered me wrong!
Anyways just wanted to give my 2 cents. They have always taken care of me.

AWesome SHOP!!

Umm, Dude, I think they suck and I'm speaking from my own personal experiences. That's great that you ride with the guys, and I'm sure that fact helps whenever you're buying anything. I don't care if they ride and or wheelie, got nothing to do with the prices that "I" get. I have an idea, let's go there and buy the same thing on any given day, myself say in the morning, and you let's say in the afternoon or whatever, then let's compare receipts and tell me if I'm justified when I say that they (woodfield) suck! I'm sure they're spectacular riders, and I'm sure that some of them can probably pull a pretty good wheelie, but that has nothing to do with me getting the shaft when I buy there, and keep in mind I've bought my older R1 from there new. Needless to say I don't buy my bikes there anymore. And if you wish you could stop by and take a look at the hack job they did on my rims when they replaced the tires :machinegu To me woodfield sucks, plain and simple. But if you're good friends with the people that work there that's great, I'm glad YOU get treated well there. If I had a "buddy" working at a cycle shop I'm sure I wouldn't be complaining about prices.

Hey Goose...that's cool that you don't care to do business with them. I'm not trying to flame you for that. And I do have to aggree there service dept is kinda weak in some cases. The Service Writer is a total dick!! But I'll always talk to Dan and he seems to get things done for me. I know he used to run the Service Dept but I see him more in parts now. But anyways too bad you're not happy with them. (Man sorry I feel like a fucken poser ..lol should you call me the woodfield spokesman:eek: ) Anyways maybe next time you go in there (if you ever do) mention to DAN, Randy sent you. Maybe you'll be happy with the service then?? Sorry Bro maybe I'll see you out riding sometime.
BTW I'm not really friends w/ them I just kinda know them from motorcycles. Dan used to help me out when he worked at MidWest Action Cycle in Lake Geneva. Oh while I thinking about it the main reason im so pro woodfield. Earlier this year I needed to get my carbs cleaned and rejetted. And the service writer gave some bs story on why he couldn't do it. I went over to the parts dept and was talking to a couple of the guys and I was crying (haha) on how I needed to go on this trip and the service dept was 3 weeks behind one of the kids went over and asked dan if there was anyway to get it done? Well to make a long story short...dan went and talked to mike (I think that's his name the a-hole) and he said no way....well I really don't know why he (dan) did it but he ended up jetting my carbs himself during a couple of his lunches and got it done for me. Needless to say bike ran (runs)great and I told Dan that I owed him for that. Anyone who goes over and beyond like that deserves my business!!:thumbup

Later man and maybe we'll see eachother out on the road....:) :)

Hey Pimp no prob, I have nothing against you at all, no worries, I really am glad you get that kind of treatment there. IMO, everyone should get great service everywhere, hell it's what the fucking word says ain't it? "Service"?? Waiting 3 weeks on a bike ain't service, it's :bs . I'm kinda split on Woodfield, cuz half the guys are pretty cool, and half (as you mentioned) are total loads. So like I said it's just a matter of which day you happen to walk in will determine wether you get a sore ass or not leaving the joint. Shit I don't know if you've seen the Power Motorsports serivice dept. or not, but if you have then you probably got as big a laugh as I did. Not to mention the fact that they hardly stock shit at all, at least Woodfield put my tires on for me, since I bought them through the web Power Motors wouldn't even do that, and I bought two fucking bikes from there!! Ya see what I mean? They're all dicks. If you don't know someone over there get ready to bend over. I'd honestly be willing to ride like 200 miles for a good service and parts dept. It's not even the money at this point. You know these guys got all these group buys going on all the time how about a group buy on some fucking oil and oil filters? The oil that I use and given the fact that I always replace my filter and always use an OEM filter it's costing me $50 per oil change at least 2x per year, that adds up since I can't remember a time I didn't have a bike. Throw in plugs and an occasional air filter and that alone is a fucking nice ohlins damper right there. There markups are unreal, I'm paying $15 for a oil filter?? WTF?? WTF??? oh and did I mention WTF? The thing that pisses me off is that the prices always jump around, one month it's 13 for the filter, the next it's 15, I'm always like "do you fucking remember me, I spend $$$$$ here all the time why are you trying to rip me? Do you think I don't have a fucking internet connection at home? Do I look like I just started riding to you?!!!!!!" Yeah I get some bad looks now and then but **** it, I'm pissed. Got half a mind to start stealing service from these fuckers. Get a small shop, invest in some quality tire changing/balancing equipment, order parts for people and not inflate the price by 100% or more in some cases. Do same day tire changes and oil changes for people that don't want to do it themselves. I think it's a damn good idea and it might open up some fucking eyes. I'm a novice and it took a friend of mine and myself about 45 minutes to jet (Ivans) and sync my carbs, what do you think our friendly neighborhood dealership (including woodfield) would charge for something like that? How long do you think they'd make you leave your bike there for? On the jetting I'd guesstimate that it'd be something like 3 hours labor book time, but I'm guessing. So my friendly local shop where I buy my bikes could care less about the kind of service and after the purchase support I receive. They don't care if they hack your rims (or anything else for that matter). I'm totally off on a major rant now but I don't care. It just pisses me off, I see younger guys fucking saving every penny they have just so they can get a fucking bike and then the dealerships nickel and dime them to death until they put their bikes in the local trading times or sell them back to the dealerships for maybe 60% of what they're really worth. You ever see these boys slap a new bike together out of a crate? It's fucking hilarious man in my buddy's bike they forgot to hook up the fucking battery! Oh I have more, so much more, this is just shit I've witnessed with my own eyes. Ugh I'll stop now:beer

But hey I see you live in Streamwood, that's pretty close to me, I'm just off 53 and Dundee. If you ever want to go riding (gonna hit some good roads in Wisco Sat morning) then hit me up!:thumbup

Goose and Pimp, I'm from Woodfield Motor Sports and I personally take these comments seriously. And I'm not in any sort of management position whatsoever, I'm just concerned that people don't feel they're being treated in a fair and courteous manner.

Now I'm in sales so I can't address the above-mentioned service issues, but is there anything I can do for you?

for what it is worth. i just placed an order with them just the other day. we emailed back and forth about parts and pricing, then i called an placed my order. i had no problems and they were very quick to respond. on top of that, they had what i needed in stock.... :jump i will have no problems ordering from them again......

Self-

Like I said I live 20 mins. away and I'd probably feel better about doing an internet/phone order rather than go in.

Nick-

I don't think there's all that much you can do. Maybe give some frequent customers some kind of a discount card or something they can carry with them, just an idea. I don't like name dropping when I go in, hence I don't get any kind of a discount (10%, 15% etc.) So basically the shit costs me the same wherever I go, Power, DGY, Nielsens, Chicago Cycle, Champion, Ron & Brian's, Des Plaines, Dupage, so I really don't have any loyalty to any specific place. If I ever need something I check the web 1st, then if all else fails and if it's just an oil change or something I just go to wherever is most convenient or whichever place is carrying my brand of oil. You're the only ones nearby that carry Motul that's pretty much the ONLY reason I stop in. I've bought bikes from woodfield, power, dgy, des plaines, and chicago cycle. Most of my service work used to be done at Woodfield but that's mainly because of Jerry (who no longer works there) he's always taken exceptional care of my bikes.

Yeah Wodster, try the JUNK YARD. Ok lighten up people I'm kidding. KIDDING!!! Seriously I CAN'T believe everybody isn't reading that top post and thinking, "HOLY SHIT... I'LL NEVER FORGET THAT!"... You're looking at an average of 30-40% discount and asking for more. I wish my '98 was an '02... it would be CHEAPER to make it new again... I live 20 minutes from a place called Donelson Cycles. They sell Ducs-Yams-Honda-Triumph-KTM-I'm getting bored 'cause I could list EVERYTHING. They advertise in national magazines and all I get is crap service and never buy anything there. I just go in, get frustrated and then leave.

You guys who don't like Woodfield should call Donelson... maybe that's how it works... you have to live at least 200 miles away to get service?

All I know is I'm thanking GOD THAT I SAW THIS POST and was referred to Dan Ortega and Woodfield... I'm actually going to resell some of the stuff I bought off ebay at a SUBSTANTIAL loss after finding that I could have just got the same item brand new for the price I paid "used/good condition"... I was trying to make my bike look like it did the day before I wrecked it. NOW I'M MAKING IT LOOK LIKE IT DID WHEN IT LEFT YAMAHA 4 YEARS AGO... for just a little more dough.

I guess any business has it's strengths and weaknesses, but in my case (and I was a total stranger), Woodfield's strengths were amazing and luckily I've experience no weaknesses. To say I couldn't be any happier would be like saying I'm just popping up to the moon. Major understatement.

Hey arwon

i'm not saying woodfield anything negative about woodfield im just asking if someone knows anyplace cheaper? im just under a tight budget at the moment, form what ive found woodfield seems to be the bust place to go. but u never know thats why i am asking.
a month ago i would have just gone to the local dealer any ordered. but i had to replace the hole a/c in my house, and i think i have a blown head gasket in my truck, and then saturday the motor seized in my other truck, plus im slowly remodeling my house.

as for woodfield Dan responded to my email within a couple hrs. with the prices that are listed in the first post. Which has left a great impression with me so far.:)

Hey Wodster, them R1's is bad mojo... I got a '98 R1 and a '98 Ford F150... (Personally I don't like Ford anyway, but that's another subject...) My Ford is in need of a new engine! Aint that a bitch? What're the odds of that... I think them folks at Yamaha have snookered a little voodoo into them bikes...

Really I've been amazed at the freakish coincidences that I've had with others on this forum... It's like we're living parallel lives...

I didn't mean to "dis" you Wodster... I unwind with this forum and just like to have a little fun with it... Since I ride an R1 also I figure I'm intitled to it.

Woodfield rocks and I plan on making Dan Ortega a permanent addition to my top 10 list.

WOODFIELD MOTORSPORTS

HEY GUYS, LETS CALL AN ACE AN ACE AND A SPADE A SPADE. WHERE DID YOU REALLY PURCHASE YOUR BIKE FROM? JERRY FROM CHICAGO CYCLE CENTER, DGY, CHAMPION, ETC...?

NOW YOU COME TO WOODFIELD MOTORSPORTS AND WONDER WHY AN OIL FILTER COSTS YOU $10.00 VERSES $20.00 WHATEVER THE DESCREPANCY MAYBE FROM DAY TO DAY. FIRST INSPECTION ON A NEWLY PURCHASED BIKE FROM WOODFIELD MOTORSPORTS IS A GURANTEED FIRST 3 TO 5 DAYS.

NOW YOU COME TO WOODFIELD MOTORSPORTS AND EXPECT THEM TO ACCOMMODATE YOU, LIKE YOU PURCHASED THE BIKE FROM THEM, IT DOES NOT MATTER WHETHER YOU LIVE 20 MINUTES AWAY OR NOT. BEFORE YOU BITCH ABOUT PRICING OR TIMEFRAME WHY DONT YOU TAKE YOUR BIKE BACK TO WHERE YOU PURCHASED IT AND SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO FOR YOU. THAT IS WHY YOU PURCHASED IT FROM THEM. INSTEAD OF BITCHING AT WOODFIELD MOTORSPORTS.

AS IT IS WRITTEN
"HE WHO HAS NOT SINNED MAY CAST THE FIRST STONE MAY THOW IT"

"HE WHO HAS NOT PURCHASED THE BIKE FROM WOODFIELD MOTORSPORTS, MAY NOT BITCH"

LONG TIME CUSTOMER OF WOODFIELD MOTORSPORTS

xXx-

Wow, 2 posts since you joined (August) and such a strong defense for Woodfield? interesting....

Anyway,

One, I HAVE purchased two (2) bikes from Woodfield. Secondly I included all the places that I have bought from in the past, I'm sorry? Yes, Jerry @ Chicago Cycle or wherever the hell he is now (Jerry the SALESMAN, if we're talking about the same guy and I think we are) is a total reject. Oh and check your caps lock button, it's on the left side of the keyboard. I'm slamming Woodfield due to my own personal experiences, your results, as they say, "may vary".

Finally let's look at one of your statements shall we? "Why don't you take the bike back to where you purchased it from and see what they can do for you?" Now if we all followed this rule, then there wouldn't be much in the way of "internet" sales? I'm assuming you've never purchased anything online since everyone at Woodfield has been wonderful to you? Good! Glad to hear it. Once again I am glad that peeps on this forum are getting the "hook-up" through Woodfield. That is very cool and I like to see forum brothers saving some $$$. It's just upsetting that I can't get the same deal on a "walk-in" basis. I'll still probably buy certain things from Woodfield, they have established a good rep with the people on the forum, and the prices I see people getting from Woodfield are very, very good. It's just that from now on, if I need a part from Woodfield, I'll do it via the internet, or have a friend (that lives further) order the parts for me, then send 'em here, it would be a pain in the ass but ultimately the best result. Please refrain from quoting Bible passages to me, that's irrelevant in this case, I'm not throwing stones but responding with my own personal experiences. The people getting these prices from Woodfield that live out of state, I'm guessing, did not buy their bikes from Woodfield as I have. So to myself, it's unfair, wrong, and shitty enough where I feel obligated to tell people how I feel about the matter. If that bothers you then don't read my post. Last I checked this was a free country and if someone feels like they've gotten shafted, they're free to rant even if others don't agree. Sue me, ignore my posts, or inquire further with me through pm or email, otherwise start a new thread titled "Woodfield is the best!!" and I promise I won't post on your thread. And why do you care where I purchased my bike from? Aren't we all shopping around for good deals on the web? Aren't we all searching for the best service we can get? "Let's call an ace an ace and a spade a spade." Let's do just that! Are you an employee for Woodfield? If not, then why the hostility towards me when it does not affect you in any way? Your second post and your asking me where I bought my bike and why I don't take it there? Sounds to me like someone joined up with an agenda.:finger

Hey man don't bother having someone order from there and then shipping to you. The place I said above www.mrcycles.com has great prices. Actually I priced parts from both and they were pretty much the same, so if you need something you can just order from mr and ship it directly to you. I have no offiliation with them, but I have bought from them in the past. I've posted several times on this forum about them, but nobody seems to listen to me about it.:fact Just make sure that you call there toll free # or submit something for a quote online. If you call there local # you can expect to hear retail prices.
