I don’t think it's a camera. From a hand shot you will see the clutch lever being pull in and the position of the thing is between the handle bar and clutch lever. I could be wrong

 

I believe its a dampening adjuster. Or som kind of adjustment knob.

Thumb operated rear brake. no fiddling around with your foot when you want to use the rear brake while in a turn.

yeah, if you read my first reply thats what i said, but people didnt agree.

As pointed out before. It is used to adjust the front brake as fade happens.
