How hard is it to get the yamaha card? Does anyone have one? Is it eaiser just to get a loan through a bank? I make about 10 thousand a year (I am 18) and was wondering if i would be able to get it?

yamaha wants 20% down

2 years on the job

more money a year

and im thinking youd be better off trying thorugh a bank or finding a first time buyer lender... at 18 your going to have a hard time getting a loan for a bike... you could go to a new car dealer ad get a new car no problem though

You wont get one, one is your time on the bureau is too short if you are even on the bureau, your income is too little causing your income to debt ratio to be over 100%.
Get a co-signer or have someone put it in there name for you..

not with that name....

better change that screen name first....:fact ....:lol

just kidding....

well, my lil' R1 wantin' bro.....i am nearly 28, have excellent credit, and still have to pay a whopping 17.9% interest.....

yes, i get some perks like $0 down & 3.9% for 6 months or so...but after that..it's HAMMER TIME !! :lol

besides, the company contracted to run the card services is not very professional....i've had some bad experiences with Household Retail Services.....:finger

So, its really not what you think. Listen to your big bros. They are right. :yesnod

You are better consulting with a credit union instead. Or, get a cosigner. Besides, you are 18....are you really getting an R1? :no

i work for yamaha shop. yamaha card requires good revolving credit. that is good credit cards at least 6 mo old. and if you are 18 and just got one with 500$$limit....no go. you have to have at least some with 2,3,or 5k limits with not near that much on them.sometimes a few slip through the cracks but probably 1 in 1000. they are the toughest. my advice go to your credit union!! and good luck

Yamaha card

I have the Yamaha card. I used it to finance my bike 100%. I got it about 2 years ago when I bought my 2000 Yamaha Venture. I paid it off and was able to use it to get the R1. You are right. HRS sucks with customer service. If you are 18, the best thing to do is to get a co-signer with excellent credit(over700). Pay it off ON TIME. I can't stress that enough. Even if you give the minimum. Never ever be late. You should be able to get a Yamaha card when you are about 21. I got a sea-doo card when I was 21 and got enough credit to get 2 new XPs and a trailer with 10% down. Just make sure you can pay it or don't even think about getting it, cause if you screw it up, it will take about 5 years of excellent credit to repair the damage.

Yamaha is picky for applicants. in your case its better to get a co-signer. The interest you pay is different upon the model you purchase. the more expensive unit you buy (R1) the lower interest you get. and get the extended warranty because you will get an interest break. the nice thing about the card is you make lower payments versus the bank. yes you will pay more in the long run, but if you can't afford to make the larger monthly payment, it can be a good way to go. if you'd like me to explain it more, email me, i can tell you all the details

I bought my bike on mine with $0.00 down, 3.99% til Jan 03, and minimum payment of $49 /month.

I got mine on the Yamaha Card. I got 7.99% for the first 2 years and then 11.99%. They also gave me the YES (Yamaha Extended Service) plan. I through in the GAP insurance and a Joe Rocket Ballistic Meteor jacket and an Arai RX7RR4 helmet. I know I am getting butt-raped (especially on the helmet - $600.00 OUCH!!!) but its worth it to ride the R1. All in all, my payments are $195.00 per month. Its the insurance that really bites!!!!

I got one this past may and used it ot get my bike. i am also 28 w/ excellent credit. i got 0 down and no interest till march next year. i will refinance through my credit union in january for a better interest rate. househole is a bad company. they have been sued many times and can be a pain in the ass.
my opinoin.. get a cosigner or see if you can get into a credit union. if you onl ymake 10k a year how do you expect to get a bike and pay for insurance unless you are getting some help with $ ???

dude.. I don't know.. making 10k per year hhmm thats a little low for 10k loan but I might be wrong.

just save up your money..and buy cash..

oh by the way...
