Yamaha logo instead of R1 sometimes?

I've noticed a few times now that the R1 will show the Yamaha logo when you turn the bike off. It's a full white screen with just the center yamaha logo. I'm not sure what triggers it, anyone know?
I've had it happen when I turn the bike on for a few minutes then shut it off, turning the electronics on without the engine. I just had it happen after around an hour ride as well. No consistencies in when it does it.

anyone know why it would show the yamaha logo instead of R1 when shutting down?

It's your ECU throwing an error code when you see that on shut down. I think it was code 58 if I remember correctly. Not a Easter egg by Yamaha, but a defect. If you run your ECU on a diagnostic it will show that code thrown for every time you have seen that display

Yamaha Corp. Tech told me that and so did the last dealer and all the dealers my bike has been at. The bikes diagnostics won't show it. I don't remember exactly what the number was. I had posted this before in another thread about that same thing. It translates to engine/electrical malfunction. Not making any of this up. believe it if you want or don't

I had a yamaha tech tell me it had something to do with PRM trying to activate. Maybe he was right? :dunno
Now all you need to know is the code to turn on PMR. 2006 and prior too was so much easier to turn it on. I cut into the wire harness and put a button on it so all I had to do while riding is hit the PMR button in case, in the rare occasion, there was a faster bike f-en with me.:saw:
