Hi Buddy

I'm thinkink to get 2010 Ohlins forks to my 2005 r1, what parts do I need to get? Can I use 2005 wheels and spacers?

Because I would like 6 pistons brake calipers to install on..

Anyone of you can give me some detail about it? please help!

I believe you can use your 05 wheel and spacers. You'll need 09-12 brake rotors, brake calipers, possibly master cylinder and brake lines, and fender. :thumbup

6 pistons aren't better than 4 either. They might have more strength but they have less feel. If you look at the brakes on any WSBK or Moto GP bike, they're all 4 piston calipers.

Couple good threads around here on it.. Theres different ways about doing it for sure.

Your wheel will work, the stock 320mm rotors will work if you use 5mm caliper spacers. Or go with the 07 up 310mm rotors.
Stock brakes line are too short, you need some 07 up. I have a stock set of 07/08's you can have. If you have aftermarket lines now, there kinda too short also.. you can trim that plastic piece on the under tripple for them to reach better thou...... Best get some 07 up lines for sure.
04/05 master has a 14mm piston, you need 16mm. That would be a master from 06 up. 06-08 are the same, 09 up you need a different lever.
Prices vary on them(masters) 09 cheapest, 07/08 the most. Best just get the rebuild kit for yours, its the same 16mm kit for 04 to present.
09 up uses a different fender, the back mount is lower.

Thats pretty much it.. Six piston calipers are a great up grade over the stock four pot's. If your gonna go aftermarket calipers, then you might wanna think things over for sure. But brembo & ohlins can cover everything you need.. for just a few $$$$$$$$:fact

Hey guys, bringing this thread back from the dead...

I am in the same boat, I cant find a pair of used ohlins for a 2005 R1 (FG327 or FGRT 810) so I am thinking of getting a set of FGRT206,

So correct me if I am wrong plz..

If I use stock 320mm rotors and stock 4 pot calipers from my 2005, all I need is a 5mm caliper spacer?

Im still confused regarding using rotors/calipers from a 2009+ to make this work.

Can I use my brembo RCS 19 for this setup?

If I decide to go with brembo calipers later, what do I have to choose from, what size do they need to be, 108, 130...??

Can i used my stock triples or do I need aftermarket ones?

Thanks, Ruben
