Ok ok, I know best is a relative term, so your option, or facts to back it up on which brand y pipe is better and why. Cost vs installation vs looks vs fitment, ect. Looking to replace my cat, have a 2bros currently.

I think the universe wants me to get the TOCE slipons and the Y pipe. That set up was the first video to come up from my search. I was a bit disappointed when I saw that The Brothers exhaust had a more aggressive exhaust note. BUT....I found this setup with the M4 Y pipe (Mid Pipe??) and TOCE slipons. it sounds wayyyyyy better to me.

go with what u like the look of. the my 09 r1 is more bike then ill ever need and use in terms of speed. if you like the toce go for it, it doesnt matter to some if it goes backwards hp wise or weight wise etc.
Personally i dont like them but each to there own! would be a boring world if we all liked and owned the same thing

What set up do you have your your bike? I figure a power commander and tune would fix the issues of the HP loss and higher fuel consumption of the bike. Yeah it would be weird if everyone liked and owned the same thing.

Akra Y-pipe and Termi carbon fiber cans on my 08. I ended up cutting a bit off the the Y-pipe where they connect to the cans so they didn't hang out the back too far. PC5 and custom tune, runs and sounds great. The quality of the Y-pipe is top notch

I might have been sold on Graves exhaust today.......I still love the look of the toce slip ons but, I heard a Graves exhaust with custom full exhaust (they didn't say the headers and mid pipe was Graves) on a 2009 R1. It sounds amazing!!!!!!!! OMGGGGG I was about to throw money, I didn't have, at the first seller that had that set up. I'll go back to try and get a clip of the exhaust

I like M4. Had three systems of there's so far and I would like to get another one for my 09. I currently have the GYT-R pipes on (that's what it came with when I bought it in January) but would trade for a M4 system in a heartbeat.

The variable in the Y pipe for performance is minimal. Akra, Scorpion and MJS have a very similar bend. Only Yoshimura has a very different bend in the Y pipe. But they don't sell a linkage pipe alone. You have to buy the 3/4 which gets excellent reviews. If you look at the bend, you can see why, it does have less turns and longer linkage piping.

Either way, I wouldn't kill yourself over the linkage pipe. The big factor is getting rid of the CAT and TUNING it. Those go together. Get rid of the CAT without a tune? It will lose power I guarantee you. I rode my bike in between upgrading. You have to add more fuel with adding more air.

Pretty much any linkage pipe or 3/4 is WITH a tune will blow your mind. Just for an experiment, I used the MJS linkage pipe and stock canister with block off plates and SBU flash. God damn.

I'd worry much less about the brand of Y pipe, and worry more about the tune and block off plates.

I had a M4 mid pipe on my 08 R6r. Big fan. I bought the M4 mid pipe for my 09 R1 (just as happy). As far as the MJS goes, I know people have bought them for their R6 and they seem to be happy with it. I know M4 has been used in competition racing (MotoAmerica) where as I don't think MJS has. I could be wrong.

I also forgot, if you don't plan on using you O2 sensor, then you will need to purchase the plug for it. M4 system doesn't come with the O2 plug. You will have to call M4 and order it separately. The MJS I believe comes with both sensor plug and sensor adapter.
