Mine is sitting at 30 grand on the clock.

 

And I've already got the well know slip in second. It's winter here so I'm going to get it fixed. (at a shop, don't tell anyone. :secret :lol
What are your thoughts on under cutting the gears?

 

My second is starting to act up too. I was going to wait until winter and have it fixed as well since the bike runs great otherwise and it actually isn't too much of a pain to just avoid WOT in second.

I was thinking of pulling the motor myself and taking that to someone to do the gear swap.

Now, from what I've been reading, Yamaha has updated the replacement gears to avoid this problem when you replace the gears that have the worn dogs with the updated Yamaha ones. So there should be no need for undercutting.

 

I got a 46,000'ish miles 03. (dunno on mileage, I only use trip a for my gas meter lol)

The only two parts i know of that are getting hard to find are fairing stays and solo seat cowls. Aftermarket parts are a different story. I have a whole box of stuff i havent even put on yet.

I thought it would be good to have a list of current '02-'03 owners.
There are parts on some of the bikes here that are not available anymore, and it would be good if we had a list of other owners so we could be more available to each other, swap info, and if you want to sell parts.
But If you want to sell parts please post in the "For sale" section. But you can post a link in here.
I'll update the list as people reply. Please PM me so I can add you to the list, just so we can keep the thread as clean as possible.
Post question and I'll do my best to find the info for you.
