I need to start off with what and adventure and learning experience, getting mixed up in practice with AMA riders.


So anyway I need to say that this is my first time racing in Daytona and it has been amazing so far.




Thursday practice:



1st practice was like being in an ice skating ring, to cold to hook.

2nd I got a good pace and as the day went by 3rd and 4th session I got faster.




Friday:



Today in the morning in practice I turned a 1:52.5 which was the fastest amateur time. Pretty constant on my times and very concentrated, on improving my skills and lines but also trying to grow some balls and push it beyond my limits.


Friday after noon the GTO race:

started in 19th place, by the first turn in the take off I was in 4th.
Mid second lap I passed the leader and started to lead the race and in mid 3rd lap my rear tire decides to start giving up on me in the bank so now I'm drifting in the bank at 180mph.


I'm not trying to crash or give out my position so I take it a bit easy and mid 4th lap the second guy catches me.


I push it big time at the end of the 4th lap and fly by him but the tire does not want to grip on the left turns; I could not hold the my position so he passes, the in turn 4 he runs it really wide and there he goes into the grass.

I try to pass but he cut me off; now coming into the bank, which I enter it in a drift of 20 yards at least and almost high side; so I let off and tried to get on it to try and pass him by the finish line but the tire gave all she could. =(


got a second that I am not so happy because again I gave a first place. =/

I turned a 1:50.6 and this is my first time in Daytona, now getting ready for Sunday races.

what can i say today (sunday march 2nd) i had a blast racing.

at practice i had a good time did couple of laps and took really good care of what i needed to improve on. dropped my practice times to 1:51.9



Unlimited SuperSport race: started in 14th place and by the first corner i was in 3rd, by turn 4 of the first lap i was in second and by turn 6 of that same lap i was leading the race, after that it was pretty much all in my hand as i pushed harder and started to pass experts.

got my fastest time as a 1:48.9

Unlimited SuperBike race: i started in 19th, by the first turn i was in 2nd and by turn 3 there was a red flag. we did a re-start.

again starting in 19th did not have such a great take off and by turn 1 i was in 9th by turn 9 i was in 6 and crossed the first lap in 5th, stayed there for about half a lap and decided that the games were over so by turn 9 i stepped up and decided to get all my passes on the bank, so i did and crossed the second lap in 1st, from there i pushed a bit and took off from the pack and started to pass some experts. in turn 5 of the 4th lap i drifted out of the corner and almost high sided, gain control back and pushed it hard, drifted again coming out of turn 10 and did that in the last lap too. so i got first. did a 1:49.2



so this week in daytona had one of the best times of my life, great track, got to see the big boys and their bikes and extremely happy with my times and results

out of 3 races i got:

2nd in GTO

1st in Unlimited SuperSport

1st in Unlimited SuperBike

dunlop Ntec daytona tires, thats all.

definetly cant just hope my pictures come out with some bad ass lean angles thats it :lol
