I am just wrapping up my chain and sprocket swap to fing out EK gave me a clip link! No one local has EK rivet links in stock either, just RK and DID. Will they fit/work?

It all depends on the pin size and length of the plate, link, and clip. If you can take your chain to match it up they may fit. Years ago I used a clip link on a 96 GSXR because I was in the same situation you're in. I went through 2 of them in one day. The first one lasted about 10 miles. I was on the interstate running about 70 and the chain came off. I was riding with a friend. He went home and got the truck. We loaded it up and took it home. Looked at 4 different shops and all they had were the clip type links, so I put another one back on. It lasted about 5 hours. I was in town taking off from a stop light and the chain came off again. That was it for me, I've not used a clip style link since.

Well guys, after carefull thought I threw the clip link aside as it appeared far too weak for my application. No one had an EK link in stock so I brought a length of chain to a local Cycle Gear to play with what they had in stock. I ended up using an RK rivet link, as it matched the EK measurements perfectly. I will say the EK sideplates are more robust than the RK. This should get the bike rolling at least till I can order the proper EK MVXZ link this week.

This is why you don't mix-n-match... Best to wait for the proper M-link...

Pin width/length/diameter (which can adversly effect side-plate fitment), roller width/length/diameter, and side-plate dimensions are not the same (all measured down to the 1/1000") from company-to-company...
