Hey, noticed the other day the right hand side fan isn't coming on when the left one does.

  • Checked fused, fine.
  • Power directly and works, nothing blocking it.
  • Power the connectors to ensure there is a connection, works fine.

I have followed the cable under the tank but at that point it joins the main harness, don't really want to be cutting that open, as it all looks fine.

run engine to get it hot with right fan connector disconnected; have test light grounded and inserted into connector; when temp reaches 217 F and left fan comes on watch to see if test light comes on (when left fan comes on). if test light comes on then check the fan for poor ground

next you gonna test the relay

Do you have a service manual?

Thanks for the advice guys, there was a blown fuse, however this fuse was labeled "Signal" and was a 7.5 fuse. There is a separate fuse for the left and right fan, and these where fine! Replacing this fuse solves the issue... Which seems strange!

Unless I read the labels wrong, I will take another look some point when I get time. But yeah for anyone else reading in the future it was a blown 7.5 fuse within the fuse box next to the radiator.
