Search for member NSDQ. He has a pretty sweet custom side mount.

Termi made a side mount as well.

 

That new CBR is ugly man. Can't believe Honda still making tri spoke rims.

 

l0l why would you want to make it like that? the style is awsome, i would of got a gixxer if it wasnt for that side exhaust. it makes it look cluttered. thats just my opinion.

 

I think the cbr is ugly too, but I love the exhaust. Not only would the bike drop weight if I had a similar exhaust but mine & the passenger seat would never get that hot, specially since I live in FL where youll sweat your a$$ off in winter...

I think the low side exhaust is sexy on a bike

 

the r1 exhaust doesnt weight that much, only about 16 pounds. the sweating your a$$ off, thats true.

ive always liked the way those exhaust styles look, the taylor made for the 08 1000rr looks super clean.
how loud is that pipe on your r1?

 

I believe a lot of the heat is generated by the secondary cat near your right inner calf..with that heat traveling up. The exhaust generates heat too but many have been happy with the major decrease of heat ny removing the secondary cat or by removing the Y pipe.

As with others, I personally love the undertail exhaust. Couple that with the aggressive front and overall styling sold me on the 08 R1. I just put in race baffles and plan to remove the Ypipe and get a PC3 (already running a lil lean with race baffles).

 

this is true.... it takes about an hour for him to repack it he has only had to do it once since he bought the bike... his orig. packing was not even that burnt up.... I figure it is very similar to what akro is putting out for the 09....same as an r6... the only difference is about 8-10 inches of pipe....

reason I didn't want to go that route is I like how loud it is....

I have an r6 tail and sub frame that has been sitting in my garage for 2 years for my 06, but I haven't found time to do anything with it. It would take a pretty good amount of fab work to get the sub frame to mount up, and I would have to sell my full graves system after I did it and get my bike remapped. I just haven't been able to justify the cost/time of doing it, but it would be cool! So if anybody wants to give it a try let me know and I will sale you the subframe and tail (complete with rear tail light and all mounting hardware) and you can give 'er a try! :rock
