There is no benefit to irridium plugs, other than they last twice as long.

 

What plugs are in the 2010?

It's just a different ending in the plug number. Like CR9EK to CR9EIX.

 

The plugs in the 2010 R1 are NGK LMAR9E-J I have tried cross ref with Brisk, Denso, ect and no one has the NGK'S listed to cross reference with, when the dealer spoke to NGK today they said that they do not do iridium for the 2009 or 2010 R1, I mentioned to the dealer who said to NGK about the NGK CR9EIX iridium plugs and they said that they have a different thread ect and will not work in the 2009 or 2010 R1, I am now looking at the Brisk plugs but they only list them up to a 2004 R1,

Looks like they already are:

Long life Iridium twin electrode longer reach NGK LMAR9EJ spark plugs are used.

They also mention there 10mm 3/4" reach..... so we might be able to use those on the older bikes.

Brisk plugs are CR10YS for the 2009/2010 r1

 

I called NGK and they said the LMAR9E-J 6884 is the ONLY plug available for the 09-11 r1 as of right now. I searched and searched even called Denso...no other plugs are out yet

 

I agree regarding NGK also brisk is available..
