Tests that I have read in the past had it measured in the lower 180's. I'm pretty certain that Yamaha pulled ignition timing in 5th and 6th gears to keep it from going over the 300 km/hr mark (186 mph).

 

I'm no expert but I don't believe Yamaha had to do anything to keep it under 186. It just runs out of HP.

Yeah I think I read somewhere that they did, but who knows how reliable it was. Only way to know is to dyno it through all of the gears. I did this with mine but the dyno was only rated for 200 mph and we were and about 191 mph at the end of 5th, so 6th was a no go. I was going to look at the chart to see if it made the same power in 5th as 4th but I cant find my printout.

lol doesnt much matter anyway, not like there is a need to go that fast. I guess unless you live in Germany or one of the fly over states there would be no reason to know haha.
