Only thing you can do now is fill it up with antifreeze and try it. You might not of hurt it. Also make sure the fans are Coming on. They come on at 223/f or if it was flashed they come on around 205/f. Hope this helps

 

If you start gettin' oil out of the gaskets or coolant in the oil you'll know you've got bad news coming. Otherwise give 'er the correct amount of coolant and run her till the wheels fall off bud. Hard for me to tell if she is poked from here, but I can say, if she is poked, you'll know.

 

I'm desperately hoping it's all good. The fans always came on, the shut off around 212. And started and ran well the few blocks I rode it. When it stops raining I'll ride it and see what's up. Thanks for the input!

 

Any time bud, I'm hoping for the best for you. Take it for a jaunt and then change your oil. If it looks like milk, that's no good. If I were wearing your boots I'd drop the oil again in a few days just to be double sure. And I'd keep an eye on the head and base gaskets.

Here's to hoping it's just fine though.

 

I'm guessing you're fine. I believe what happens when you are low on coolant is the air around the temp probe heats up more than the coolant and gives you a false reading. More than likely your coolant didn't get that hot as your fan was coming on.

I realized that I could just look through the oil sight-glass to see what the oil looked like. It does not look like mayo, it looks like slightly-darker-than-new oil. I think it's okay! But now I can't get outta first, but that's a different post.

 

I'd say check that both fans are working

Check for punctures in your radiator

Burp your hoses.

Run the bike with the radiator cap off, and see if your coolant is bubbling out.
