Hi all, currently I have an '11 R1 that I've had from new and I love it.
I'm looking to go track /race only (sick of the fuzz!) but have heard a few horror stories of x planes going bang (this forum has a few!) which is putting me off.
Might sell and go Honda or…
Appreciate any thoughts / comments??

I know of a lot of cross plane owners (Kyle_M, irish01, Burn-Z, z064life and many others) that ride track only with their R1s, and have had few or no problems.

If that is what you want to do, just do the research on what parts you'd like to change and enjoy yourself. The only thing I think needs to be changed other than the bodywork (may as well save the stock stuff) is fork springs (they used progressive springs in the soqis and sag is nearly impossible to sort well). There are a TON of parts that are nice to change, but the bike as it came is really very well track oriented.

I've tracked my 11 for 2 seasons (since new)...no issues.

track fairings, rear shock, case covers are the 3 best mods so far

I tracked mine a season and a half before I crashed it. I had a coolant spitting problem, but the weekend I crashed it I believe I had it resolved. The world may never know :lol

Many of our members track their r1's like dan mentioned. He only named a small fraction of guys though :yesnod
