The radiator will go on the sharkskinz R7 kit bike and whatever header arata/hindle gives the most breathing room I guess
You WILL have to trim the inside edges of both the upper and lower to get it to fit. :fact. The radiator is wider than the fairings, and trimming the rolled edges makes the fairing fit properly.

surely someone makes a radiator to fit race headers and std width bodywork etc?:dunno
You would think....but I think they make the rads generic (not an exact fit), knowing that most will be putting them in race machinery where not every application (header/fairing combo) is the same. Most likely the reason for the useless left side mount. It didn't work for me or sonic, but it might work for someone else. Just venturing a guess, though.

lol, yeah, imagine making a radiator that just fit an r1 nicely? :lol perish the thought, what was i thinking????:lol:dunno

Btw - Nice score on the radiator Rod !! you guys remember that black Marchesini I had up here for sale a little while back ?? got it for $290 !! and sold it for $405;-) !! great deal for everyone if you ask me

Hey doesn't Fred at Yoyodyne have a nice one for the R1...... it looks like it'd be a much better fit .
It might fit better....but both Rod and I got our rads for less than $500. $1600 is friggin steep.

The split design is interesting....wonder why they did that?

Don't worry I still want your front wheel !! I was waiting for you to think about the " trade " we discussed.

The split design allows them to angle it for better fit with the header and the front wheel under full compression....... and I never said the $1600 was acceptable !! LOL
I'm jealous you guys got yours so cheap...... but then they didn't bolt right up either..... did they now ? :butt

It was a 10 spoke forged aluminum one..... hub was too wide and it wouldn't work on my bike.... I'd need rotors with 4mm offset. That's why I sold it, none of you would have wanted it anyway

If you've got a brembo m.c I don't see why stripping down your original calipers and giving them a good clean with new seals won't get them back to how they used to be.Cheapest option too.
For now I don't have a Brembo M/C.

On my 00 the forks leak so bad that one caliper is constantly wet so it's stopping with one caliper at the moment :( Like I said, thats after three sets of seals and about 5 sets of pads in the wet caliper.

Thats really what has spawned this whole project for me. I get to get rid of the leaking crap forks, and I get to upgrade to radial brakes and M/C and a lighter wheel (thats actually round unlike my 00 wheels) all at the same time.

If I could get the forks to stop leaking I am sure rebuilding the calipers and a set of fresh pads would work wonders. Probably need new rotors as well as these are pretty beat up.

Hey Jay..... I'm hoping to get some new front AP calipers for my bike in a trade I'm working on..... which means I'll have my 04' radial mounts for sale..... if you're interested in those I'd make you a good deal on them. It'll be springtime when I get rid of them

Ahhh crap...forgot to reply to your last e-mail. Oops. Thanks for the reminder. :)

I LOVE the gold, but I'm done searching for front wheels. If it doesn't fit the wheel I have now, I can't use it. 19.5mm is too much offset for my wheel. Sorry bro, but I can't use either pair of rotors. Hell, I've got a set of rotors I need to sell also! My old gold ones.

On a side note..... any of you guys ride bicycles to stay in shape ?? I've got way too many bikes and not enough room in the garage any more..... so I'm getting rid of this one.... will make a good deal to anyone on the forum you think might give it a good home
