250 mile tune up..pointless. ive heard of people doing an oil change on brand new bikes that early....but not a full tune up. depends...how often do you plan on changing oil? I change mine every 3-4000 miles. I run Rotella T6 5-40 from walmart. $20 for a gallon. want any more info about oil then click the search button at the top a new oil thread is started at least every other day with the same questions asked

Yes, change it at 250 miles! And the spark plugs need to be changed everytime you get gas. Dont forget or you can blow your tranny!!!
Another thing...the chain needs adjusting everytime you do the oil change as well. Make sure you clean it with windex and lube it with wd-40. DOnt use the lubes in the motorcycle stores because they attract dirt.. wd doesnt.
Another important note is to re fluff your seat.. any impalance on the bike can cause improper wear on your tires, resulting in resistance to extreme lean angle. :1pok:

just don't use synthetic oil till 1000km ... cause piston rings needs to seal cylinders walls correctly asap and synthetic oil is going to hinder that process.
some people think it's better to change oil and filter after some miles (before what the user manual suggests) when the bike is brand new cause of the metal "dust" released while breaking-in. Personally I've always changed mine after 500km and filter too.
Do what you think it's better ...if you change it sooner than suggested it's not a bad idea... but just avoid synthetic oil....

what's wrong with that especially when you're asking a question 10000000 people already asked? :dundun:

hence the hint to search bringing up more hits to what you are looking for.

If you have tough skin, I'd say ask the 10000000th asked question. But be prepared for the fallout... :lol

So, did your boyfriend get your oil changed? Next time, if he does it himself, you should get him to follow fiveoh's method for getting all of the oil out. There's a thread on it in the Oil/Lubrication forum. Just don't pay attention to the naysayers in there, a couple of them are bona fide bedwetters.

Dont forget to add 1.5 can's of NOS that come in the orange and blue can into the gas tank after your 500 mile tune up. You should be able to find it at any local convenience store. I heard it helps your injectors from getting clogged in the future. And dont use the stuff that comes in the bottle can only.
