He's on a dynojet kit bro, not the stock setup.

Thanks bud, I do try to help, and @Svennie is definitely contributing to the forum as well, things appear to be all right in the universe.

What settings are you running on the jet kit? How many turns do you have on each air screw? What pilot jet do you have installed? Where is your needle clip set? What main jet are you running? These factors will help in diagnosis of your issue. My gut instinct is to tell you to either open your fuel air screw, or to step your pilot up one size depending on the fuel air screw setting, but again, it may be the fuel pump.

Download a copy of the service manual HERE and look for the section on fuel delivery, it should outline a test procedure for the fuel pump. Follow it to the letter.
I'm certain the fuel pump did get looked at 1202067 cheers bro and that was one of the things in working order as there was many things that needed a going over ill take some pictures of everyhthing me and my friend done ill also chuck some pictures up of the bike itself so you can see what I've been up against here. I'm not willing to give up on the old girl yet as she can still put most motors and most bikes a good country mile behind her plus I'm old school guys I don't like those computers taking all the fun out of the ride and the bonus ball I do love a classic lol. Ill be honest though it is a work in progress but Its something to get done for next summer I'm going for the full yamaha blue as at the moment it's a few different blues but like I said previously it's a work in progress and it's running good enough for some fun just before the cold weather hits here.

The back has been modified so the back undertray doesn't have the big round tail lights i think it looks better and I wanted something different to the usual lol ive also stuck a set of l.e.d Indicators on it. ill get some other pictures up shortly so you can see what I mean.

Fresh out the Mrs kitchen. Excuse the dirt it does need a clean guys but she doesn't look too bad atall. I'm going for all the Same colour for starters then upgrading the headlights is next as thats about the only thing on it thats like it was back in 1999 there horrendous. I'd be better strapping an l.e.d torch on the front my helmet rather than using the lights yamaha have supplied on this as the bulbs are worse than what you'd find on the Christmas tree so I've orderd some l.e.d upgrades hopefully when they decide to arrive ill be able to see where I'm going at night :ROFLMAO:

Currently unavailable mate already tried amazon thanks though.
Well @#$%. It showed available on my screen. I'll do a little more digging.

One suggestion would be to drop by a local shop and see if they have or can source one.

Support brick and mortar while it's an option bud. There may come a time when it isn't if no one does.

Edit: it does indeed show unavailable on my end now. That sucks.

Hi Mark thanks for your reply due to bad weather here I haven't been able to back online I've orderd this sensor ill stick a picture up could you tell me if this is the correct one and if its just as simple as plugging it in? Is there any d.i.y involved to make it fit etc also when is this suppose to ring the fan on? thanks guys.

Nice one Mark cheers mate thats ideal the only issue I have is mines has just popped its clogs absolutely typical if I'm honest it keeps saying low or the highest it goes to is 45c breifly then goes back to low I don't suppose you have a trick up your sleeve to try and revive this one? or is it a case of putting It in the bin only reason I'm asking is I was meant to go out one last ride before I put it away for winter but I don't want to drive it with this fault. The new one is coming from America I'll be lucky to see that before Christmas lol
thanks Rab.

Thanks Mark appologies i haven't been back online for a while I ended up changing the sensor all together hit problems with the wells sensor it brought the fan on at 70 but then fired out its coolant not an issue though as I had a spare genuine one that put in and it sorted that issue out.

I have another issue and hope use are able to help please? Today I went out on the bike and I ended up hitting a bump in the road wich must have done something to my dash as my headlights indicators and rev counter all work but the digital speedometer doesn't neither does my coolant temp reader it was working prior to the bump. So I pulled over checked to see if anything had came off the bike and there was nadda so I drove it back home.

Can I still drive it like this or will it cause more damage?

Where should I begin to start to diagnose the issue?

Does anyone know if the fan will still come on even though that reader thing for the coolant isn't working?

Digital speedo and coolant reader were all working prior to hitting the bump. Headlights indicators main beam and the neutral light all come on as they did before so it's just the digital dash and the coolant reader display I can't see me going through another temp sensor thing.

Thanks in advance guys just need this back to normality rapid as I use it to get to and from work.

98-99 R1: The fan turns on from the thermoswitch so you'll be fine without a temp reading. Ride it and don't worry. 00-01 gets turned on from the speedo via a relay. I'd check the connector on the meter plus the big white connector near the front of the bike for corrosion.

.. I ended up hitting a bump in the road which must have done something to my dash...
With the bike being apart, it's back to the dash connector or the ECU connector side. Being it's two jobbers down at the dash, has to be one wire that ties both in? That's the guess.

I wanna say a COM line, but not familiar with the dash layout to say for certain. Usually more would drop out, and my guess being both wires are wrapped around each other, one being called the high, the other low. But here at home built are us, we fiddlefukers sure fukupshit for a better word beating out the Boolean just for grins...

... I too grin that sheet, it can't be because more should drop out if it was a COM line. Say, and I could be 100% wrong on this, but high wire controls right side, low wire triggers left side for codes, etc. In other words, one wire pops up as a group to the dash?

So with shop manual open to the ECU's pin readout, find COM low and high wires. I'm thinking of the harness being disrupted from OE out of the crate; whereas, a lo/hi COM line was work hardened and broke (open) internally more finding a wire loop on its own to vibrate/move up and down/work harden the copper strands at the fulcrum point; break; dash functions with phantom readouts/dropouts... something like that variable of one wire controlling dash inputs.
