I almost think the mv is one of the highest top end 1000`s around and the R is just not built for top end speed according to reviews i read but rather mid range and usable power.

300kph is 186mph..your R1 stock should do that :dunno

 

Without changing your gearing, I don't think the latest Gen r1s have such a high top speed like the beemer or new kawis, even with a flashed ecu, I would say more in the vicinity of about 188 189 MPH tops, and that's with a flased ecu, full system and some weight loss.

is your friends bike speedometer correcting for the error that comes from the factory? im thinking its not. so hes probably more like 180-190ish

I'd be really curious to see what this motor will do with different pistons. I'm not sure we've seen one on the forum that has made decent power with them

I have several MV F4s of various years and slightly different hp outputs; and I think it's more of a slightly-slower-acceleration-and-then-can't-run-'em-down-up-top thing for the R1s. My 1078RR is my fastest MV on GPS at 192mph. Full Ti exhaust and Microtec ECU gives 191hp at the tire (+22 from the 169hp stock baseline). Weight is about the same as the new R1s, at 479# stock.

The 1078RRs did 187mph stock. All my R1s are close, between 174 and 186mph on GPS; but not in acceleration TO top speed. And a few mph just can't be made up on the big end, so the gap just widens at warp speeds. The ZX-10Rs are crazy fast. I have several of those, too; and I understand your plight. Mod-for-mod, you're still gonna be a bit short on the Kawis.

Pipes, filter, and reflash/tune should make you happy and get you close. I'd recommend a nice set of forged wheels as much as anything. The '07-later MVs have Brembo (Marchesini) Superlights that are only 1.0/1.5 heavier than BST carbons F/R.

Never tried it on stock Ecu but I'm running a Flashtune ecu and I've had mine stuck at 188mph on the dash for couple seconds. I'll use a GPS app on my phone next time to get a real MPH reading.

 

sorry guys but im new at this. I have an 08 r1 when I bought this bike it dyno at 136hp with some upgrade re-dyno at 148 im think of getting my ecu re-flash but im worry about it, can you guys help me out tell me what to do. to get that extra hp but not buying a new engine. thank a lot...

 

Ok KNN air filter it new a few months ago, cat delete, two brother slip on, new ecu flash com flash tune, power commander 5 with custom map, and just got it dyno again still only 137 hp. I'm very disappointed, what can I do to see why that is? The dyno guy said the weather thats what cause of the hp lost.

i have had my 09 r1 to 194 mph stock ecu but have a few other upgrades cant wait to get my ecu flashed and a full exhaust system slip ons are nice but cant beat a full exhaust
