alright folks, lets get the party started please...

here's the thread y'all been waitin' for! the term is OTD = OUT THE DOOR, please post up what you're hearing, or what you're signing on of course :boobies

we all know the YZF-R1M is limited numbers so of course everybody wants to know what the talk of the town is, as folks initiate contact with Yamaha and their respective dealers, lets see those numbers!!

just so we can keep this easy to understand it would be great if you could specify tx & related fees, location, COLOR & ETA on these bad boys!

keep in mind there's members from all around the globe who are desperately looking for this information so try and be as clear as possible, as others will be able to use this in negotiations in getting the best deal possible.!

here's a little motivation!

Well going from my experience at two dealerships, tax, dealer fees, documentation, etc is an additional $600 (Alabama) and $1200 (Florida) The latter took care of the registration right then and there so that contributed to the final cost.

Expect dealerships to sell the R1M for a couple hundred over msrp before tax and other fees.

I put a deposit down on a R1M yesterday the OTD price they gave me is $25,315.70. It's says plus tax on the paper but guy told me that was OTD price.

I'm jealous! Nice!

They're gonna rip me off, I know it. I've never been good at negotiating with those guys. One time I was buying an r6...got the loan from my credit union and had the check in hand but it was like 50 bucks short. The guy made it kind of a big deal the whole time and I was like...wtf? It's 50 bucks. I couldn't find a way out of it other than to put that 50 on my debit card. I should have just walked out.
You should've walked out... You know how many dealers would love to sell to you with you walking in with essentially cash in hand? You aren't doing a damn thing through them with financing or anything... It's one of the easiest sales they'll have...

Order Date???

Wow you already put a deposit when dealers cant even put in orders until February.
When And Where Did You Hear This Info From???

The dealer I put a deposit on a r1m just emailed me and said they can't order any r1's untill February?
My Dealer Would Not Take A Deposit He Said He Can't Order It Yet?

He Called The Yamaha Rep In Front Of Me...Rep Said We Have To Wait To Order?

I Left My Info For Him To Order The Bike, He Is a Friend And I Am 1st On the List .

But I Will Not Feel Like I Have The Bike 100% Unless My Order Is Placed With The Factory.

Hope We Can Get Them Allocated, Ordered, And Confirmed In The Next Week Or Two.

Yes the dealer said they are pretty positive they will get one and since I put a deposit down they emailed their yamaha rep to try and secure one. They said they expect to know for sure by the end of the month. I figured if I wanted one I needed to jump on it fast!

Was talking to the Yamaha dealership today. Its only 500 of the R1M bikes coming to United States. Its only 24 stores getting a bike the top store is getting 2 and everybody's else is getting one. He was telling me all the dealerships in the United States are asking for more already but that's the way it stands right now

update!! Someone has already put a deposit on an R1M in Alberta, the total out the door is less than the Washington price quoted. $24k and change. $22,499 or something like that for the bike. :fork

that is in Alberta though, tax is only 5%, BC is 12% tax

thats to much, its lower here.

agreed, should not be at msrp stateside, WA state is always more expensive though specially if you're close to seattle... should be 20k + tx give or take or less

incorrect!! thats OUT THE DOOR, no more hidden fees, no freight/ no PDI... just cost of paper work added, thats msrp, but just barely msrp :fact

it was noted on the paperwork, in order to sell at msrp they had to bend on fees, but you are at least correct that some may see the show room
floor or sit in a warehouse somewhere as a dealers show piece for a bit, which would mean they will come down in price...

this is just day 1 sales savvy, though i believe at least one or two of those recent sales already had deposits down a couple of weeks ago... :dunno

thanks for changing thread name mods :bow

Here in Uk the rumours are the R1M will be ÂŁ25k (Around $40,000 !!!) + Admin + Registration fees on top. Absolutely a joke...

Guys just snap the thing up. As it's only mountain bike money for you lucky guys..

The M's will go and you'd be hard pressed to get much of a deal on one. Just not enough of them to around so unless you got severe pull, gonna pay MSRP or very close to it.

If you can wait a year, it's the same as every all new bike ever released (for the most part), wait a year or so, wait for the new frenzy to die down and you can score a better deal. I always like to wait a year for that reason and it does take a bit for parts to hit the market. Takes about a year to have a full choice of parts from multiple mfr's. Graves will be out of the gate quick, as will Akra and Ohlins, the other stuff takes a bit more time.

Also there is no power difference on the motors between models. It's looking like suspension and data logging is the difference which is very similar to the Pan vs PanS. Kyle Racing, who specializes in Pans and does a lot of R&D, they still say buy the base Pan and upgrade, and that the electronic suspension is a little bit gimmicky.....and the aftermarket Ohlins is better than the OEM offered versions. But you never know with these new Yamahas that may be different. I'd rather wait and buy the base for $14-15k, throw Ohlins at it ($3k) and still leaves another $3k for full exhaust, rearsets, etc. WERA and CMRA guys won't even use CF bodywork, it's the first thing they'll do, is remove that shit and sell it.

Buy as low as you can which will give you more of a budget for parts. My guess is the ECU flashing on this new bike is going to be quite complex and pricey. A lot more 1's and 0's to decipher to remove OEM restrictions which are sure to be in place.

OTD prices are gonna suck out here in CA. With it being a new bike and none on the floors yet, they probably won't wheel and deal. As for the M, if it's anything like the HP4, they'll probably all be spoken for.

#43 ·
I'm shocked any of you are even able to get these prices. No dealer in my state (Hawaii) is quoting for a 2015 R1.
hahha.. yeah it was rumored to be more exclusive than it has been early on, but that just goes to show the advertising efforts and premiere did what they were suppose to do, generate sales..

in fact most of the numbers coming out are right in line with how a premiere of this level would demand, some if not all current sales were already signed and paid for two weeks ago, sight unseen...

All you guys talking about only select dealers getting the M is making me nervous that the dealer I put a deposit on one at isn't going to be able to get one. Stop it lol.
