Alright guys this just in. Just got off the phone with DanQ. He gave me this info to pass along to you all. The Tapoco Lodge will not be opening for the 2009 season. What this means for us is that they are referring all of their guests to Fontana. Fontana is filling up quick. So if you want to go you better lock in on rooms or cabins post haste!!!!!!

I reserved a cabin through Fontana Village a couple of months ago. Is there anything else I need to do through the forum or anything? Or does the resort take care of placement?

She took my reservation and gave me a tentative cabin assignment but said that it could change due to our requirements or something. I've got to drive 1000 miles to get to this shindig and I don't want to be stuffed in the cheap seats if you know what I mean.:lol

No, your cabin is locked. Nothing to do here unless you want to fill space. Then you can just post in the lodging thread that you have space and we'll try to help you fill it.

To elaborate on what GPD270 (Scott) posted: Apparently Tapoco Lodge (another prime lodging facility) has run into problems of some sort, and are not going to open at all during 2009. There are a couple of meetings planned to determine the future. BUT. What this means to us is the people that usually get accommodations there are swamping Fontana Village. At this time Fontana is unaware how this may affect us other than our lock on the cabins will be up soon, and lodging will become first come first served.

IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO, CONTACT FONTANA VILLAGE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. 1-800-849-2258. Ask for Debbie in Group Sales and inform them you are part of the R1/R6 Forum (or Yamaha group) to ensure you get a cabin at the rates they offer us for the Convention.

If you run into any problems, PM me. If I'm not available (rare) PM GPD270, as Shane, Scott, and myself are able to discuss these things with Fontana.

Just called this morning and the person I spoke with said that there were only 2 bedroom cabins left, and I took the last 4 lodge rooms. Not sure if this is true, but that is the info Tammy gave me as of 9am est this morn. If you dont have a place yet I would suggest you cal this weekend if not today.
